Why Boxing After 50, 60 & 70+

The Workout That Keeps Giving Back

Boxing isn’t about getting in the ring. It’s one of the best all-around workouts for staying strong, steady, and independent, and it’s a lot more fun than a treadmill.

01

Low Impact, Big Results

No jumping, no pounding. Punching the mitts and bag works your whole body while staying easy on knees, hips, and back.

02

Better Balance

Boxing footwork trains you to shift your weight, pivot, and stay grounded. Those are the skills that help prevent falls.

03

Coordination & Reflexes

Every combo connects your eyes, hands, and feet. Your reaction time gets quicker, in the gym and out of it.

04

A Sharper Mind

Remembering combinations and reacting to your coach keeps your brain working as hard as your body.

05

Strength & Heart Health

Rounds of punching, light weights, and core work build muscle and get your heart pumping, all scaled to you.

06

Seriously Fun

There’s nothing like landing a clean 1-2 on the mitts. Members leave laughing, sweating, and feeling like a champ.

Questions

Frequently Asked

Am I too old to start boxing?

Nope. We train members in their 50s, 60s, 70s and beyond. Your coach scales every drill to your fitness level, so you start where you are and build from there.

Will I get hit?

No. Fitness boxing at WTF means hitting mitts and bags, not people. There is no sparring unless you ask for it.

I have bad knees / a bad back / an old injury. Can I still do this?

Usually, yes. Tell your coach about it and we’ll work around it. If you have a heart condition or another medical concern, check with your doctor before starting any new exercise program.

Do I need any experience or gear?

No experience needed. Gloves, wraps, and towels are provided. Just wear something comfortable that you can move and sweat in, plus sneakers.

What happens after my free session?

Your coach will suggest what fits you best, like private sessions, classes, or a mix of both. There’s no pressure and no contracts.

Where are you?
